I treat insomnia with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. This specific form of therapy was developed to assist individuals with regulating their sleep. Some people are referred to this type of therapy after they have been evaluated by a sleep doctor and found to not have a medical reason for their insomnia. A referral is not required for me to assess and treat your sleep issues. Please stop suffering and come to see me for your sleep disturbances!
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the "gold standard" treatment for most types of depression. Studies show that 1 out of 4 people will experience an episode of depression at some time throughout their lives. My approach is compassionate, yet somewhat directive. There are specific behaviors and actions that can improve mood and lead to better overall life satisfaction.
I am certified in one of the most effective treatments for addressing trauma. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) has been proven to treat trauma, and it's many related symptoms, in a manner that is simple and fast. Every survivor of trauma is unique, but EMDR can be effective for most people who engage in the process.
Again, research shows that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the best therapy to resolve symptoms of anxiety. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is one of the Anxiety Disorders that is most common. I have successfully treated OCD in people of various ages by using CBT. It is important to take the step to come to therapy and release yourself from the grip of anxiety, so you can live life to it's fullest!
